Sport Group + Rekortan

Rekortan, the original synthetic track, is Sport Group’s global track brand. Rekortan was first installed at the Olympic Stadium, Berlin in 1969 and was later used for the 1972 Munich Olympic Games.

Rekortan is available from Polytan, AstroTurf and APT and 25% (which is the most) of all World Athletics certified tracks are Rekortan. Five Diamond League venues choose Rekortan and our systems where chosen for the 2018 Asia Games and 2019 SEA Games.

Rekortan leads with innovations. The Rekortan Gel is the only true gel track in the market and is the most advanced and environmentally friendly track system in the world. Its proprietary Gel layer is made from 88% renewables and provides the best shock absorption and energy return stability in the industry.

The Rekortan M track system which is made from 49% recycled and renewable material, is the most certified track in the world, with 153 World Athletics certified installations worldwide. In 2020 Rekortan M was chosen for the Manchester Arena (UK) and was certified World Athletics Class 1.

Rekortan offers the only ‘smart’ tracks. Rekortan Smart is an athlete performance diagnostic system with embedded technology that connects the athlete with the track via wearable sensors or smart phones. Rekortan Smart brings the power of digital tech to the track with built-in data and time recording systems. Data, such as running time, distance, step frequency, step quantity, step length is recorded and analyzed.
